Why We Do It?

Have you ever had that feeling, deep down in your soul, that something is missing? Life is good on the outside: job, finances, relationships, etc., but there is still something "meh" about everything. You go to church EVERY Sunday, faithfully, trying to fill that void but it ain't happening. "Am I depressed? That can't be the case because I feel like greatness is right outside my reach, I can almost touch it." Well that was me. Until I stumbled upon a YouTube video about not eating pork. I know you don't see the connection but give me a few seconds of your time. See, that video was about following God's laws and how those laws pertain to a specific group of people. The Israelites. I had been in church all my life and had NEVER heard any of this before. That video stirred up something in me that I had only felt temporarily, usually after a big win in life. It was like a switch was flipped and I had to, needed to, know more about the Israelites. Who are they? Where did they go? What happened to them? More importantly, why am I so drawn to their story? In my search for answers, I discovered that I am an Israelite. That their story is MY story and God's laws pertain to ME. And just like that, the light came on and that greatness that was just out of reach, I had a firm grip on it. Both hands! And it all started with a simple video about not eating pork. That is why I started Menorah Tees. Not everyone is gonna have their "AHAA!" moment the same way. For some it's through a conversation. Others, a video. Still some may see a t-shirt that sparks a conversation or a search about its meaning. You never know. It’s my hope that through our designs, those of us who know who we are, can peak the interest of those who are searching and bring them in. We shouldn't just make statements. We should wear them. For all to see. Be proud of our heritage. After all, everybody can't be the best, that's our job
